|Northamptonshire Police are appealing for information regarding an attempt distraction burglary that took place on Mears Ashby Road, Wilby. Unknown males (possibly 3) knock at front door of the elderly victim. The victim unlocks the door, but does not open it. The males state they were present due to a gas leak, however the victim had not reported a gas leak. The victim does not open door, and tells the males he had not called them and the males then go away. The males were not wearing uniform consistent with them being staff from appropriate utility company. This happened between the hours of 22:00hrs & 23:55hrs on Saturday the 27th of January.
